Embrace the “AND”: Redefining career readiness through Ohio 4-H by Margo Long, Ohio State University Extension’s 4-H first Program Manager for Workforce Development and Pathways for youth development.

All young people deserve to be career minded AND college minded, while being prepared to further their education AND the world of work. Learn how the Ohio 4-H Pathways to the Future program is designed to redefine the path to career readiness in the 21st century to prepare tomorrow’s workforce.

Long’s primary responsibility is developing, implementing, promoting, and evaluating a high-quality workforce development and associated college and career readiness program for Ohio 4-H youth and families.

COAD George Goddard,  Early Childhood Division Director, will share the exciting news of COAD’s new $1.4 million dollar grant from the US Department of Labor. The Corporation for Appalachian Development’s grant is focused on training and licensure of 100 individuals to begin new careers operating much needed childcare sites in 28 Appalachian Counties.

Noble County Community Foundation –  Mike Lloyd, Secretary, will bring the philanthropy perspective for community support of needs.

Preschool students –  will be present to remind us of how the workforce begins. You won’t want to miss their perspectives.
